Beware of sizes

I really adore the style, weight, and feel of the American Apparel baby shirts (and onesies). They are soft and thick and durable, and apparently comfortable. My son appreciates the lap collar, because we don't have to struggle to get it over his head.I have two cautions for anyone interested in buying these, however: first, the sizes run extremely small. My son has consistently worn 1-2 sizes larger in these than in other brands (e.g. he is about to outgrow his 12-18 month American Apparel tops even though he's still comfortably wearing some 6-12 month tops of other brands).Second, these tend to set grease spots very readily. This isn't very noticeable with black, but is very obvious on lighter colors, even brown (though not on the very lightest colors). I've tried my usual techniques for stain removal and I can rarely get these stains out (despite the fact that other types of stains have come out of garments in the same wash load). I don't know the reason for this, but would hazard a guess that the cotton is not treated with any kind of stain preventative sizing.

Rich color & study weight of material

This top is simple and wonderful. The envelope next is fantastic for my little boy, who is in the 75th percentile for his head size but only 36th percentile for his weight. This top is durable, unlike the cheaply thin Rabbit Skin tops. I love it and ordered more.

The only clothes I buy my kid!

These tops are just awesome. I was searching for lap t-shirts because my 1st percentile child has a 95th percentile head. Most necklines won't go over her forehead, but these do with room to spare. T-shirts are also better for a fluff-butt cloth diapered baby. I love that these are Made in the USA, great colors, great quality, and only $10. I bought 6 in every size and will be back for more colors.
