I ordered the 18-month size for our skinny (19 pound) 16-month old. They are very tight around the legs and waist, and also too long- they pull up much higher than they need to. If you are frustrated looking for training pants for a very little baby, these may be the ones for you! But for us they are too small. I also have Carter's training underwear in the same size and the Carter's fit much better. Otherwise, the two brands are very similar. The I-plays might be slightly more absorbant. Both brands are a bit "crunchy" due to the plastic-y stuff they put in there, but it is not too noticeable and the underwear are still soft and seem comfortable.

The fit on these is good. My daughter is 20 months old. We ordered the 24 month ones. They fit well, snug around the legs without being uncomfortable. When she wet herself her pants got very wet, but these kept the accident in the pants - no puddles. She was uncomfortable and knew she had gone, but the floor was spared.

Background: I am on my second EC'd baby. My first I used 18mo Gerber training pants. They did not have any PUL in them, but they also didnt fit until about 12mo. By 12 months, he was barely ever wetting himself, so that worked fine. My 5 month old baby however is nearly in the same boat. He almost never has accidents, but those 18mo Gerbers would never fit him yet! So I picked these because one reviewer said they fit her 5mo old perfectly.My review! These 18mo old sized trainers fit my 16lb five month old PERFECT. I have NO IDEA how these could EVER fit an 18 month old. Even a tiny 18 month old!!! EVER! I'm honestly not sure how much longer these will fit my 50th percentile 5 month old baby (meaning he is totally average sized for a breastfed baby). I'm hoping I will get about 6 more months out of these, but seeing how perfectly they fit right now at 5 months (slightly tight around his thighs though, honestly) I'm not convinced they will last him until a year. I love that they are slightly waterproof because of the PUL layer. He hasnt had a miss yet in them, but I can tell that if he did, the edges around the legs would get moist enough that I would realize he had an accident, but they would not, I'm guessing, get his clothes soaked! AWESOME! I love the fit. I love the price. I was originally going to sew my own, but when I found these, at this price, with the layer of PUL nicely hidden inside two layers of SOFT cotton, I knew I couldn't make anything nearly as nice for this price. Boo, I'm supporting products made in China... but the price is right and I can't ignore that!!Well made. Good construction, soft material, flexible PUL. The pull makes only the slightest crackly sound, but it's almost inaudible.
