This sleepsack is definitely a heavier weight than the "regular" sleepsack weight from Merino Kids (which is what we use in the warmer months). When the temperature in the house is in the 67-69 degree F range, this sleepsack and just a long-sleeve cotton shirt work well for nighttime. As the temperature gets towards 60 degrees F in the house at night, pairing this sleepsack with the Merino Kids woolen PJs works well.We are fans of the Merino Kids sleepsacks, even with the high prices. They have worn and washed very well, and I think have helped our toddler sleep well through the night, in warmer and cooler months. These certainly are well made (at least the ones we've gotten so far), and are in great shape as hand-me-downs or loaners to friends.

I ordered this sleep sack for my almost-two-year-old who had outgrown all of our other sleep sacks. Our daughter's room gets *really* cold at night (we have an old house with old leaky windows) even with the thermostat on 69 for the night, and so blankets that she can roll out of just aren't enough--I would be going in to cover her up a million times a night. Because her room gets so cold, I'm always worried about bundling her up enough while still leaving her comfortable enough to sleep and roll around. This is by far the best sleep sack we've ever owned. I can put fewer layers on her (a long sleeved onesie, a blanket sleeper and this seem to be the perfect combo) and she sleeps through the night most nights and has warm hands and a warm nose when I check on her in the night. I ordered an infant sized one for the new baby I'm pregnant with right now and am pleased to know I'll be confident in my ability to keep him warm at night too. They are expensive, but the fit range is huge--I'm confident I'll get a full two years out of both sizes (at least), and so far this one seems very sturdy and durable. I might actually order a second one in each size so I don't have to stress out about getting one washed and dried before it's time to sleep again.
