Nice summer blanket!

I bought this lightweight cotton muslin blanket at the end of spring, since the winter-weight fleece blanket we were using was going to be much too hot for my baby girl in the scorching summer temperatures. At 11 months, she's still too young to sleep at night with a blanket in her crib, but other than that, this muslin blanket goes virtually everywhere else with us. We never leave home without it! It makes a great stroller blanket for early morning or evening, when temperatures are a bit cooler, even in the summer. And it's very useful for grocery shopping to keep my little-one from getting chilly when we hit the refrigerated sections of the store; or for pretty much any indoor space where the air-conditioning is on too high. This blanket is quite resilient and washes well. It's been dragged around and put through multiple machine washings, and it doesn't look torn or worn out at all. In fact, it seems to get softer each time it's laundered. Yes, it's a bit pricier than your average blanket, but it's a quality product than can stand the test of time. Plus, it's made of organic cotton, which means it's free of the pesticides and other chemical residues that are typically found on/in products made of conventionally-grown cotton.Just a word of CAUTION: The weave in this blanket seems to be somewhat tighter than several other comparable blankets on the market, such as the Aden + Anais cotton muslin swaddle blankets. Despite pediatricians' and childcare experts' warnings against allowing infants to sleep with anything covering their faces because of the risk of SIDS, some parents allow their babies to do so with muslin blankets because this material is considered "breathable." I don't allow my little-one to sleep with anything in her crib or covering her face. However, if you're one of those parents that does, this is DEFINITELY not the blanket for you, since the fabric is so tightly woven that it's much less breathable than typical muslin blankets.
